Hot Off the Press: D Weddings Fall 2008

The new issue of D Weddings hit the stands recently, and we were chosen as a designer to do a tablescape for their editorial design section. We were told it was to be accented with blues and whites...this is what we came up with! Super exciting!!

Weddings: Suzie + Chad
Highland Park Methodist & The Old Red Courthouse

We loved helping Suzie with her wedding plans and flowers! She was joy to work with. She had such a fun-loving spirit and great ideas. Her flowers were whimsical, using accents of succulents everywhere!! She was all about bright colors, and we helped create this look using orange roses, gloriosa lilies, pink asiatic lilies, and orange callas.

They were also all about the dessert! That is why I had to include pictures of the fabulous cake made by Colleen. I also had to include the Paciugo ice cream and M&M shooters. Gotta love it!

Thanks to the pictures from one of our favs Engaged Studio:

Weddings: Christen + Chris
Holy Trinity and The Stoneleigh

We had the honor to do the first wedding at the Stoneleigh Hotel since its renovation. It was a great experience and a great wedding! We are excited to get to work their again. The Penthouse if phenomenal with so many great places to tuck floral and decor. So fun!!

This was our first time to work with Amy and Daisy Productions, and she took amazing pictures. Take a look below:

Weddings: Logan + Alan
The Adolphus

We got to do the flowers and decor for Logan and Alan's lovely wedding this Spring at the Adolphus Hotel. The ceremony was held in the Century Ballroom and the reception was in the Grand Ballroom. Her favorite colors were purple and blue. We helped achieve her look using blue hydrangea, purple vanda orchids, purple stock, and lilac roses. Take a look at some shots we took from her reception.

Rene and Roderick
Christ the King and The Adolphus

It's been a while since we last blogged. We haven't had time to gather all our pics from all the wonderful Spring weddings we have been doing. I so wish we had more pictures of this beautiful wedding that we did in April at the Adolphus, but this is all we walked away with. Hopefully, the photographer will show us some love and get us some more pics!

Leigh and Brian
Arlington Hall at Lee Park

We were honored to help Leigh plan her wedding and get to do the flowers for this event. It was the first wedding in the brand new outdoor pavilion at Lee Park. We couldn't have asked for better weather! Leigh's style was classic and understated and we helped with this by using all white and green goddess callas and white dendrobium orchids. It turned out beautiful!

Thanks to Cristina Wisner for these great photos:

Aerin and Alex
Texas Discovery Gardens & Times Ten Cellar

Alex and Aerin had such a creative, personal wedding. The bride was great to work with and she had great taste!! Her wedding coordinator was Emily Youngblood (who we love working with). Together, they did a great job planning this wedding.

We used a combo of garden roses, peonies, blooming cherry blossoms, lilac, and ranunculus to create the one of a kind pieces for her ceremony and reception.
The first picture is from her photographer HelmutWalker. The rest are ours:

Rena and Daniel
Perkins Chapel & The Adolphus

We loved working with Rena's family. They were so great and so much fun. Rena had a vision of "simple elegance," and I feel like we greatly accomplished that through her flowers using all white lilac, callas, and garden roses.

We took most of these pics below, but her photographer took the first one. It was Visions in White:

Erin and Clay
Plymouth Baptist Church & Las Colinas Country Club

Erin had a very unique sense of style, and we loved getting able to mesh our ideas together to create a polished look. The theme was "lovebirds," and I think we accomplished this look using blooming branches, chocolate brown birds, and birdcages filled with tulips. It turned out great.

Here are some pics below from her phenomenal photographer (I hope we work together again very soon) Heather Essian:
